## CMSIS-Pack Software Release Notes

## 1 Overview

This document provides the software release notes for the Morse Micro CMSIS-Pack, an STM32Cube IDE Expansion Pack that integrates the MM-IoT-SDK with Morse Micro's MM6108 and MM8108 Wi-Fi HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah) chips. It is intended for developers working with the MM6108-EKH05 and MM8108-EKH05 evaluation kits.

Each release section documents new features, improvements, known issues, and deprecation notices introduced since the previous release.

## 2 Software Change History

### 2.1 Release 1.10.2

#### 2.1.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.12.3.
* Please refer to the Release Notes for MM-IoT-SDK 2.12.3 for more information on the changes introduced in this release.

#### 2.1.2 Other Improvements

* CMSIS-Pack includes build-defines as a plain text file as part of the pack (see build\_defines.txt). This makes it easier to communicate build-defines without users having to inspect the example projects.
* CMSIS-Pack defines explicit, non-conflicting paths for all header files in all components, including hostap. This ensures projects can rely on the dynamically generated include paths from CubeMX, rather than copy-pasting settings from the example projects.

#### 2.1.3 Known Issues

* Using IPv6 with the iPerf example fails because traffic is not received.\
  Workaround: Manually set the iPerf bind address to ::0 when using IPv6.
* The release build variant of the demo applications has instability. This option has been removed until the next CMSIS-Pack release.\
  Workaround: Do not upgrade to 1.10.2, or wait until the next release.

#### 2.1.4 Deprecation Notices

* Nil

### 2.2 Release 1.9.0

#### 2.2.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.11.2.  Please refer to the Release Notes for MM-IoT-SDK 2.11.2 for more information on the changes introduced in this release.
* The CMSIS-Pack also includes new components to allow building morselib and hostap from source.

#### 2.2.2 Other Improvements

* Nil

#### 2.2.3 Known Issues

* Using IPv6 with the iPerf example fails with traffic not being received.\
  Workaround: Manually set the iPerf bind address to ::0 when using IPv6.

#### 2.2.4 Deprecation Notices

* The FreeRTOS+TCP networking stack has been removed.

### 2.3 Release 1.8.4

#### 2.3.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.10.4.  Please refer to the Release Notes for MM-IoT-SDK 2.10.4 for more information on the changes introduced in this release.
* The EKH05-Demo example now has a Command Line Interface (CLI) over UART. This provides an interactive interface for controlling the application.

#### 2.3.2 Other Improvements

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to make changing between Morse Micro chips (MM6108 and MM8108) and between demo example applications more straightforward.

#### 2.3.3 Known Issues

* Using IPv6 with the iPerf example fails with traffic not being received.\
  Workaround: Manually set the iPerf bind address to ::0 when using IPv6.

#### 2.3.4 Deprecation Notices

* The FreeRTOS+TCP networking stack is deprecated by MM-IoT-SDK. It will be removed in the next release.

### 2.4 Release 1.7.4

#### 2.4.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.9.7.  Please refer to the 2.9.7 release notes for more information on the changes introduced in this release.
* Support added for the new MM8108-EKH05 evaluation kit.  The out-of-the-box example will flash the LEDs based on the EKH05's accelerometer.
* A new CLI example has been added.  This allows the user to send commands to the device over the UART, providing an interactive method for status and control of the EKH05.

#### 2.4.2 Other Improvements

* It is now possible to select the region via BLE when using the out-of-box demo (MM6108-EKH05 only).

#### 2.4.3 Known Issues

* Using IPv6 with the iPerf example fails with traffic not being received.\
  Workaround: Manually set the iPerf bind address to ::0 when using IPv6.

### 2.5 Release 1.6.1

#### 2.5.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.8.2, which includes the 1.15.3 drivers/firmware.  Please refer to the release notes for 2.8.2 for more information on the changes introduced in this release.
* Support added for the new MM8108 chip.
* Support for the persistent config store used in MHS for storing configuration.
* A shim template to assist users in getting started with new hardware. See the CMSIS-Pack user guide, chapter 10, for more information.

#### 2.5.2 Bug Fixes

* WNM sleep failed with a duration of 10 minutes or greater.
* In the ping example, the post ping idle time was set to 60ms instead of 60s.

#### 2.5.3 Known Issues

* Using IPv6 with the iPerf example fails with traffic not being received.\
  Workaround: Manually set the iPerf bind address to ::0 when using IPv6.

### 2.6 Release 1.5.0

#### 2.6.1 New Features

* CMSIS-Pack has been updated to use MM-IoT-SDK release 2.6.4.  Please refer to the release notes for 2.6.4 for more information on the changes introduced in this release.
* A new version of HaLow\_example has been added that uses the SDIO interface, allowing users to easily switch between SPI and SDIO.

#### 2.6.2 Known Issues

* iPerf sessions running over IPv6 do not connect.
* WNM sleep fails when the duration is 10 minutes or greater.
* The post ping idle time is set to 60 ms instead of 60 s. This will impact power measurements.
* Workaround: edit the config file in Core/Src/configs.c and change the following line: {“ping.post\_ping\_delay\_ms”, “60”}, to: {“ping.post\_ping\_delay\_ms”, “60000”},
